Objective:
The objective of this Category 1 IB Workshop was to introduce participants to the foundational principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, with a focus on understanding and developing effective unit planners. The workshop aimed to equip educators with the skills to create unit plans that align with the IB framework, integrating elements such as inquiry-based learning, global contexts, and assessment strategies to ensure a coherent and impactful learning experience for students.
Participants engaged in hands-on practice to design unit planners that address IB objectives and facilitate interdisciplinary connections, supporting a holistic approach to student development.

IB Philosophy and Mission
Discussion on the IB's educational philosophy, mission statement, and learner profile.
Emphasis was placed on fostering an international-mindedness and inquiry-based learning approach.
Curriculum Framework Overview
Participants explored the curriculum structure, including the core elements of the IB program.
Detailed explanations were given for each component, such as approaches to learning (ATL), key concepts, related concepts and global contexts.
IB Assessment Principles
Introduction to assessment types, criteria, and standards in the IB program.
Participants reviewed examples of formative and summative assessments and discussed methods for objective grading and feedback.
Collaborative Planning and Reflection
Practical exercises in collaborative planning, which focused on integrating IB principles into unit planning.
Reflective sessions allowed participants to discuss challenges and share insights from their experiences.
