ADMISSION POLICY


Mission and vision of school-gymnasium 201

Our mission is to cultivate competitive and intellectually adept individuals who possess both global knowledge and a strong sense of national values. Through an education grounded in the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB), we empower our students to develop critical thinking skills, a strong sense of ethics, and a global perspective. Our goal is to nurture individuals who are not only capable of effectively implementing business practices but also committed to lifelong learning and personal growth. By fostering a culture of inquiry, innovation, and collaboration, we aim to empower our students to realize their full potential and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world at large.

Purpose

The Admission Policy for school-gymnasium 201 is designed to create a fair and transparent process for admitting students. It ensures equal opportunities for all applicants while maintaining compliance with the state's education department guidelines. By setting clear eligibility criteria and implementing a comprehensive application process, the school aims to provide quality education to all eligible students within the Nurkent microdistrict in Alatau region, Almaty.


Admission process and criteria

  • The school should implement admissions in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, relevant laws, rules, and other regulatory legal acts. The admissions policy shall be developed based on the charters of educational organizations.

  • When enrolling students in school, school heads must conclude an agreement for the provision of educational services with the parents or other legal representatives of the children. This agreement must adhere to the model contract for the provision of educational services, as approved by Order № 93 dated January 28, 2016, of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (registered in the State Register of Regulatory Legal Acts under № 13227).

  • Parents or other legal representatives of the child or student choose educational organizations taking into account the wishes, individual inclinations and characteristics of the child or student and in accordance with the conditions of admission if there are vacant places. In case of refusal to admit to study in an educational organization, parents or other legal representatives of the student apply to the local education authorities at the place of residence.

  •  In accordance with paragraph 18-1 of the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 12, 2018 No. 564 to socially vulnerable segments of the population subject to selection in the amount of 15% of the total number of admitted students: children of a family whose parent has a disability of the first group; families with or raising a disabled child; orphans and children left without parental care; orphans, children left without parental care, living in families.

  • Age: The minimum age requirement for admission is set at six years old for first grade. Age requirements for all other grades follow the guidelines set by the state's education department.  

  • Applications to the school are submitted through the e-government portal. In case of overcrowding of class sets and non-compliance with the deadlines for submitting an application established in these rules, the school refuses to accept the application.

  • Applicants will be notified of their admission status by email or postal mail within a specified time period. Parents or other legal representatives of admitted students will then be required to complete the enrollment process within the designated time frame to secure their child's place at school.

  • Admission of students to the 2-9 grades implementing general educational programs of primary and basic secondary education is carried out with provision of access to students living in the service area of the school.

  • Admission of students to the 10-11 grades of educational organizations implementing general secondary education programs is carried out with the provision of access to students living in the service area of the school, and on the basis of a personal application of students or an application of their parents or other legal representatives, as well as the availability of a state-issued document on basic secondary education.

  • When a child enters the first grade, comprehensive schools do not conduct exams or tests. However, when applying to gymnasiums, students entering grades 5–11 are required to take tests in mathematics and a foreign language (English) to determine their level of preparation.

  • The same conditions apply to foreigners as to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Parents or other legal representatives must temporarily or permanently reside in our country.

  • According to the "Requirements for the Compulsory School Uniform", the inclusion of elements of clothing of religious affiliation of various confessions in the school uniform is not allowed. In addition, Article 47 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education" states that students "are obliged to comply with the requirements for the compulsory school uniform established by the authorized body in the field of education.

Admission documents  

Applicants must complete the official State School application form and submit it along with the required documents within the designated application period.


Supporting Documents: 

  1. Аpplication for admission to the school signed by the parent/other legal representatives.

  2. Birth certificate or passport (copy)

  3. Photo of student 3 * 4 2 pcs.

  4. Health passport (original) and vaccination list,including any specific health requirements or accommodations.

  5. Official transcripts from the applicant's previous school, including previous years' report cards, standardized test scores, and any other relevant academic records 

  6. Character references: Letters of recommendation or any other documentation highlighting the applicant's character, behavior, and achievements.
