Open Day for Parents

Open Day for Parents
Date: 13.02.2026
Focus: Learning progress and summative assessment tasks
The school organized an Open Day for parents to provide an opportunity to review students’ academic progress and development in ATL skills. The event aimed to strengthen communication between the school and families and to highlight students’ achievements in their summative assessment tasks.
During the Open Day, teachers presented the results of recent summative assessments, explaining how students demonstrated their understanding of key concepts and subject-specific criteria. Parents were informed about the assessment process and how summative tasks measure students’
ability to apply knowledge, think critically, and solve problems.
In addition to academic results, special attention was given to the development of ATL skills, including communication, collaboration, self-management, research, and thinking skills. Teachers shared examples of how these skills are integrated into classroom activities and assessments, supporting students in becoming independent and reflective learners.
Parents had the opportunity to discuss their children’s progress with teachers, ask questions about assessment criteria, and receive feedback on both academic performance and skill development. The discussions helped parents better understand how the school supports students in achieving the goals of the programme.
Overall, the Open Day was successful in promoting transparency in the assessment process and strengthening the partnership between the school and parents. The event also reinforced the importance of developing both academic knowledge and essential learning skills that support students’ long-term success.
